mom listened to me making the tasting portion of the video and said "you didn't sound really enthusiastic about those" and i said 'mom, they are amazing' and then we both dove into them and exclaimed how great they are. my fave sauce was straight soy sauce, her was a combo dip of soy and duck. they would taste greater still with my fave soy/rice wine vinegar/green onion sauce. whatever you choose, try these for company… they will FLIP! š thanks, as always, for watching!
what i did today
2-2/12 cups cold fried rice
one beaten egg with a teaspoon or two of water added
1/2 cup panko crumbs
mix it up well, place in fridge for an hour or two to chill and set
form balls with the mixture, any way you can to get them to hold together. coat with more panko. shalllow fry in your favorite oil and watch out for popping peas of burning doom. š cook about 3 minutes, turning constantly for even browning. place on paper towels then after 5 minutes or so, place on serving plate and serve with various dipping sauces. you will look like a champ to your guests! š

You just keep amazing me with your creative ideas! My son’s a big Chinese
food freak, he will love these! Thank you š
I could watch these all day. No, really I could.
Looks good. Bye
Sounds good to me!!!!!!!!!!! I make fried rice patties from left over rice
and add a bunch of spices and cilantro, and an egg, then shallow fry. You
made the yearning for Chinese food come back had that yearning all weekend,
but been ignoring it the waistline doesn’t need it lol. When I do have my
Chinese, and there is left over rice will try this for sure. Thanks for
sharing Liz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
mmmmmm. They do look good. I was suspecting that they would have been dry,
but with the nature of the thing, it doesn’t matter. In Hong Kong, the
fried rice was mostly white-ish, which interested me. (it was delicious,
btw) You know, I am delighted with your inventiveness. It makes your lovely
cooking videos FRESH!! – roc
i just had one for breakfast. im having more for lunch. i love them. that
is all. š
try them, cos – so yummmmyyyyy
thanks, holly! woot woot to the 25 percent club! š
i will definitely do these again next chinese leftover day. so simple and
so deelish!
nothing says fun and relaxation like fried fried balls bubbling in oil, i
say.
try ’em!
mmm your rice patties sound delicious too! i’ll try yours and you can try
mine hehe. except i don’t like cilantro, so i will use basil, ok? š
nope… crunchy on the outside, almost like stuffing moist on the inside.
soooo goooooood. thanks for saying that about my inventiveness… you are a
nice lady š
Once again your awesomely creative! Im sure they are great! NUMO!
You shoulda tempura’ed the granola. LOL I formally christen these Rice
Puppies. They look just like Hush Puppies, and they serve the same end, so
yeah. I can see dipping in a combo of oyster sauce, shoyu, and a smidge of
mustard, or sweet-n-sour with a hint of mustard. Even a plain old fashioned
ketchup/worcestershire/horseradish cocktail sauce. The possibilities as
finger food are huge. Now I’ve gotta make some leftover rice to try them. I
NEVER have leftover rice.
Deeeelish!!!! :oP
