These Vadai are made with Toor Dhal or split Pigeon Peas. So easy and quick to make and very satisfying. This is a mess-free recipe that you can make in minutes once the dhal is soaked. Wash the lentils thoroughly and soak in hot water for 2 hours. It's ready to use!
The ingredient ratios can be customized as this is a very flexible recipe. Just make sure to taste for salt before frying.
Vegans and vegetarians will love this protein-rich snack!
Happy Cooking!

Hello, could one use red lentils for this recipe? Thank you.
Hi Ezra, you most certainly can and that’s how it’s done more commonly in
Sri Lanka too. Be sure to wash and soak the red lentils till they increase
in size about x 3. Come back and let us know how it turned out. 🙂
+Aasai Rasai ආසයි රසයි thank you so much. I love your channel, your recipes
are beautiful! My husband is Sri Lankan and I’ve been trying to learn some
foods his grandma used to make him 🙂
You are such a good wife, Ezra! Thank you for your kind words and I am glad
you like the recipes. Do you have any particular item in mind that your
husband’s grandma made?
