For skillet fried oysters, this is the vid! Good job. Nice, concise, and no
distractions…
+Ninebreaker Thank you very much!
Larry
Interesting. We use saltine cracker ground real fine. No seasonings at all.
We call it cracker meal. Keeps the oil cleaner. Makes the oyster stand out.
Trying this tonight. Wish me luck.
Ha!! I’d love to join your cooking group and I’m really flattered you
consider me a ‘celebrity’! But, I’m just an average Joe that loves to cook!
Please let me know your group name! There is also a Wolfe Pit FB page if
you’re interested, I’d love to see how your oysters turn out and how you
like them! Please feel free to post lost of pictures!
Larry
I should be fine. I’m the son of a retired chef so I think I got this. Hey
are you on Facebook. I have a small cooking group I’d love to have a
celebrity like you in the group
Thank you James! Please let me know how you like them!! If you don’t
overcook them, you can’t go wrong!!
Larry
Great looking, Will try this weekend.
Thank you Sam! Hope you enjoy!
The problem I have with Frying stuff is you never really know how long to
put them in there. I mean keep in there until Golden Brown. You don’t know
how many minutes. I mean what if you get board, & you burn them.
+bob bot You heat or eat a couple gallons of oysters?
+Alex Schloesser If you’re bored go out to eat…..LOL! If your oil is at
proper temp and you’re not bored they won’t over cook…
Please enlighten me, I have only seen the pre-shucked ones in the meat/fish
counters at the market. I’m pretty sure they arent freshly shucked (I live
in NY State). Can I do this using those?
+TheWolfePit Well, youre pretty fussy so those will be plenty good enough
for me, gonna try them soon. Thank you!
+theresa bollman Yes Theresa, those are the same ones I used and they’re as
fresh as you’re going to get unless you shuck them yourself!
Looks great!
Thank you Joy!
my suggestion is not oil but use shortening and also dont use cornmeal ,
just the flour and old bay
I’m all over that plate!! I love oysters, raw, smoked, fried..Yum yum!!
Well done Larry!!
Great for libido??

Larry: I saw you mentioned fried clams. We always have some in the freezer.
Clams are our 1st choice and oysters are a close 2nd. We do fix the
oysters the old fashion way but your way is a lot less messy. Might just
give this method a try. You are right about cooking them too long. At
almost $30 a quart you better set a timer. More than 50 seconds on clams
and they are ruined. Another great video! Short, sweet and to the point.
Bernard
right on brother, looks tasty from here ! cheers bud!
