Question I’m a twelve year old using my brother’s account and I ask if you
can cook the sides of the squid?
Remember those fins/ I don’t know what they’re called on the sides of the
squid which looks like a triangle? Can I cook them also? Just asking…

  19. Luis Perez says:

I tried it and I don’t know what went wrong. Got whole fresh calamari.
Fried it golden brown. About two minutes and it was so tough I couldn’t eat
it. Just wondering what went wrong

    • Famey rose says:

Hi luis, you should cook it with less time, 40 sec for the body of the
squid should be good and about one min and a half for the tentacles. Turned
      out great for me

    • Luis Perez says:

+Franz Gregor Guevarra Thanks, I’m going to try it next time.

    • Franz Gregor Guevarra says:

try milk on calamari for more than 30 minutes to make it tender.

    • Patricia Roberts says:

+Luis Perez hey Luis, i think your oils heat was a factor, and thickness of
your rings perhaps. sounds like your squid were u-10’s…pretty big!
normally i would slice the bigger ones thinner and be extra sure to remove
the membrane from inside the body first. Most Italian places keep their
fritti fairly simple….lightly seasoned flour, hot oil…

    • Luis Perez says:

I’m in Chicago but we have an Italian fish market and he gets fresh often.
They were pretty big, about 6 inch. I have tried the frozen but they were
also tough. We have a restaurant that sells them but he wont give me his
recipe. Tender as can be. I didn’t check the temperature but they looked
great. Golden brown. too tough to eat.
